At Halifax Health - Children's Medical Center, we recognize that many parents have concerns about vaccinations and understand that the information portrayed in the media can be alarming and confusing.
The OB Emergency Department at Halifax Health is part of our commitment to this community and to the safety of our moms and our babies. We are proud to be the area's first and only OB Emergency Department and have partnered with the Ob Hospitalists Group (OBHG), the largest OB/GYN hospitalist provider. Together we strive to make certain every expectant mother is afforded the privilege of consistently and unconditionally seeing a certified OB/GYN physician in the event of any medical emergency during pregnancy and/or when she reaches her time of labor and delivery.
OB/GYN Hospitalist Program Advantages
Our OB Emergency Department (OBED)—is open for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Your private physician knows that our team will be available around the clock when you need us, ready to respond. In the event your private OB/GYN physician may not available, our OB/GYN physicians can examine you, evaluate the progress of your labor, review test results and fetal heart rate tracings, and stay on top of any issues that may be developing and provide you and your baby with a safe delivery, while working closely and communicating with your physician.
In the regrettable absence of your physician, you can rest assured that the OB/GYN hospitalist can provide medical expertise and optimal care, as well as answer any questions you or a family member may have. Our hospitalists are highly skilled in a variety of different delivery techniques and are required to maintain high levels of clinical performance and professional standards. In addition to board certifications for OB/GYN, our hospitalists are required to have additional specialized training in the management of obstetrical patients.
You want to chose the best care for you and your baby. The OB Emergency Department, and our experienced team, is one of the many reasons expectant mothers have chosen to bring their children into the world at Halifax Health since 1928, and today we help deliver more than 2,000 babies a year.
