Head/Neck & Lung Navigation
The Nurse Navigator for Head/Neck and Lung Cancer patients at Halifax Health - Center for Oncology is an integral part of your treatment team. The Navigator will help guide you through your treatment, assist in organizing your care, and provide education and assistance each step of the way. We want to make sure that you get the support and help you need.
The Head/Neck and Lung Nurse Navigator will empower you by supplying you with current information and education regarding your diagnosis, cancer treatment, management of any side effects of treatment and available resources. You will receive the appropriate monitoring and self-care education to ensure the highest quality of life possible during your journey.
Once a referral has been made, Navigation
services may include:
- Assisting and arranging your care
- Performing a needs evaluation and referrals
- to appropriate resources
- Primary contact during your cancer journey
Services are available whether you are inpatient at Halifax Health or being seen at the Halifax Health - Center for Oncology outpatient clinics.
