Arlen Stauffer, MD is certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and by the American Board of Family Medicine. He has been practicing medicine in Volusia County for more than 30 years.
Originally from Indiana, he is a graduate of The Ohio State University with B.A. and M.D degrees, and then completed the Family Medicine residency at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, serving as Chief Resident during the third year.
After working for more than 20 years in Emergency Medicine, including 16 years as an Emergency Department Medical Director, he transitioned to the practice of Hospice and Palliative Medicine in 2008, and has been employed full time since then by Halifax Health - Hospice.
He serves as Director of Inpatient Services for Halifax Health - Hospice, and also provides consultations in Palliative Care at the Halifax Health Medical Centers in Daytona Beach and Port Orange. His primary focus is on providing excellent care to those facing serious or life-threatening illness, and to patients nearing end-of-life.
Dr. Stauffer enjoys spending time with family, flying, and leading medical mission teams to underserved parts of the world.
