Halifax Health Hosts 1st Annual My Heart Matters 5K

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (February 14, 2018) – Nearly 200 participants laced up for the 1st Annual My Heart Matters 5K Run and Walk presented by Halifax Health on February 11.  Held in recognition of American Heart Month, the race event began on the campus of Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach.  The course included a challenging .6-mile run/walk up the medical center campus’ six-story parking garage and continued on to Daytona State College’s campus before concluding at the France Tower at Halifax Health.  The winners were Josh Ebert of DeLand (men’s division) and Angelika Grubel of Ormond Beach (women’s division).  Proceeds raised from the race will go to the Halifax Health – Center for Cardiology to fight heart disease in Volusia County.  The My Heart Matters 5K Run and Walk was the second race of the 2018 Live Your Life Well Race Series presented by Halifax Health.  For a listing of upcoming races, visit www.lylwseries.com
