Halifax Health – Ophthalmology provides comprehensive care for individuals who need guidance and care for conditions and diseases of their eyes.
We offer a full range of eye care, from routine eye exams to surgical procedures that help treat or cure common, rare, or complex eye conditions. Such conditions include cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases that occur inside the eye and related to nerves within the eye.
We also offer vision care that includes eye vision checkups and lens prescriptions.

Dr. Nishita Patel is an ophthalmologist specializing in comprehensive eye care and cataract and lens implant surgery. As a native of Florida, Dr. Patel grew up in Ft. Lauderdale. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami, and her doctorate of medicine from Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed her internship at Orlando Regional Medical Center and completed her ophthalmology residency at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Patel is a clinical instructor for Florida State University College of Medicine, and enjoys giving educational seminars to the local community.
Dr. Patel was recently named Chief of Ophthalmology at Halifax Health by the Department of Surgery Chairman, Harry Black, MD.

If you are a patient of Dr. Donald Cardone, please be advised that he is retiring at the end of July 2016. Dr. Nishita Patel is the ophthalmologist who will continue your eye care at the same practice location. All records will be kept at the practice, so there is no need to request your medical history as Dr. Patel will have that access.
