Ride to Stop Suicide
Every suicide touches the lives of at least six other people. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, the rate of suicide has steadily Increased in every age group since 1999. The Veterans Administration states that 22 veterans die by suicide every day. This is the second leading cause of death in ages 10-34 and ranks as the 10th leading cause of death in all age groups. Over 850 people die each week by their own hand. Despair takes many of our loved ones and prevention is the key. On November 3, Halifax Health will host this inaugural motorcycle ride to enhance knowledge and raise awareness. First bike out is at 9:10 am and the last group out is at 10:00 am as we make our community aware of this devastating epidemic. Please come join us to help prevent suicide. This is too big an issue to ignore.
