Vascular surgeon Ryan Messiner, D.O. has joined the University of Florida Heart and Vascular Surgery program at Halifax Health.
Dr. Messiner is an assistant professor in the division of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine and completed a one-year osteopathic internship and a surgical residency at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville, as well as a vascular surgery fellowship at Penn State College of Medicine.
Prior to joining UF, Dr. Messiner was the director of vascular surgical services at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. He also previously served as an assistant professor of vascular and endovascular surgery at the University of Oklahoma – Tulsa School of Community Medicine.
Dr. Messiner specializes in treatments for abdominal aortic and peripheral aneurysms, including percutaneous endovascular aortic repair, popliteal stenting and open surgical repair; treatments for peripheral arterial disease including atherectomy, balloon angioplasty, stenting and open surgical repair; carotid artery disease, vascular access and varicose vein disease treatments through laser, radiofrequency ablation and sclerotherapy.
