Eye Doc Talk: Diabetes and Your Eyes

Join Halifax Health Chief of Ophthalmology Dr. Nishita Patel as she teaches the importance of eye care through this monthly series.  This month’s topic is “Diabetes and Your Eyes.” The community is invited to attend this free event and learn more about the major eye issues that can occur with diabetes.

Social Media and Your Psyche
August 23, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Join Halifax Health – Care for Women’s Sue Chappuis, APRN, as she discusses the effects that social media has on the psyche – which can include depression and anxiety.  This free event is open to parents and teens who would like to learn more about the long-term effects of this “digital addiction.”

Doc Talk - Part 1: It All Starts with Primary Care

Join Dr. Leslie Williams of Halifax Health – Primary Care as he discusses how having a primary care provider is the first step in combating heart disease and stroke – the two leading causes of death in Volusia County.  This free presentation will also include a complimentary blood pressure check and a card for attendees to take home so they can track  their blood pressure over time.  A light lunch will be served.

Join Dr. Leslie Williams as he provides an inside look of all the preventive exams and screenings patients have access to at Halifax Health – Primary Care in Ormond Beach.  He will also discuss new technology, including one for skin exams.  Light snacks will be served.
