58th Annual Riviera Open Organizers Make Donation to Halifax Health-Foundation for Cardiology Program Services

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – (March 20, 2019) – Organizers of the 58th Annual Riviera Open pro-am golf tournament recently presented a check for $2,000 to Halifax Health-Foundation for the Center for Cardiology at Halifax Health Medical Center.

“We are thankful for this donation from the organizers of the Riviera Open.  It will help Halifax Health-Center for Cardiology to provide the latest technology, services and education to our patients,” explains Halifax Health-Foundation Executive Director Joe Petrock.   

For the second consecutive year, Halifax Health served as the title sponsor of the Riviera Open, which took place November 30 - December 2, 2018 at Riviera Country Club in Ormond Beach.  Considered the “Grand Daddy of Professional Mini-Tour Golf,” the event is a part of the Florida Professional Golf Tour.

Top pro-am golfers from throughout the United States and Canada competed in the tournament, including: two-time Arnold Palmer Invitational winner Matt Every, Jacksonville Beach; Jeff Sorenson, Blaine, Minnesota; Rod Perry, New Smyrna Beach; and 2017 winner Bryan Fox of Roswell, Georgia.  The 2018 winter was Kevin Aylwin of New Smyrna Beach.   

In addition, the 58th Annual Riviera Open included a golf clinic led by several golf professionals for Special Olympians from Volusia and Flagler counties.
