Gynecologic Oncology
The Gynecologic Oncology Center at Halifax Health Center for Oncology provides advanced technology and expertise for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer of the female reproductive system. The center, headed by Dr. Kelly Molpus, offers specialized care for patients with pre-cancerous conditions, and cancers of the ovary, uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, vagina and vulva. Our program also offers a dedicated, inpatient oncology unit with private rooms for patients with gynecologic oncology specific needs.
Besides conventional treatment options, patients have opportunities to participate in national clinical trials offering unique treatments for gynecologic malignancies. The Center for Oncology has advanced and minimally invasive treatment options, including robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, which was recently used in Halifax Health's live online surgery.
The Gynecologic Oncology Program emphasizes education, compassion, care and the latest techniques in GYN surgery and chemotherapy.
