The prenatal diagnostic center is under the direction of the Regional Obstetric Consultants whose practice is accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Regional Obstetric Consultant's physicians are all board certified by the American board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as the Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialty division.
Our physicians offer you the most advanced prenatal diagnostic testing techniques available. Halifax Health offers a state-of-the-art ultrasound system that provides high definition imaging.
The prenatal diagnostic center at Halifax Health offers the following services:
- Genetic Counseling
- Ultra - Screen (11-13.6 weeks) 1st trimester screen, Down Syndrome screen, Trisomy 18 or 13 screen
- Genetic Ultrasound (16-20 weeks)
- Amniocentesis and CVS (Chorionic Villus Sampling)
- Targeted Level II Ultrasound
- Fetal Echocardiography
- Fetal Umbilical Doppler Studies
- Antepartum Testing
- Consultations with Specialists in Maternal / Fetal Medicine
