Overview

With state of the art equipment the laboratory at Halifax Health Medical Center has the capacity to perform a full range of diagnostic tests. Hundreds of thousands of medical tests are performed each year by certified medical technologists and lab assistants who are highly skilled in such disciplines as chemistry, hematology, microbiology, histology, toxicology, immunology and blood banking, and serve under the direction of the hospital's pathologists.

The Halifax Health Medical Center laboratory is committed to accuracy and efficiency in providing test results for its patients, and offers both hospital inpatient and outpatient services with extended hours to fit busy schedules. Our professional staff is highly experienced and certified and has special training to draw blood specimens from children and infants. Most testing is performed daily with results available to physicians the same day.
