Halifax Health Medical Center has a Designated Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program and is a Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations certified Primary Stroke Center. Halifax Health Medical Center's Emergency Department features private triage areas, specialized treatment areas - minor and major medical, trauma, gynecologic and pediatric - and Chest Pain Center. Board-certified emergency physicians are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are supported by skilled, experienced nurses and technicians trained in emergency medicine.
