Emergency Services at Halifax Health
When emergencies happen, residents of Volusia and Flagler counties can count on Halifax Health Medical Center's Emergency Department, one of the busiest in the state, caring for more than 102,000 patients each year. Halifax Health Medical Center has a Designated Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program and is a Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations certified Primary Stroke Center. Because minutes matter, the department's experienced staff is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in as timely a manner as possible.
Halifax Health Medical Center's Emergency Department features private triage areas, specialized treatment areas - minor and major medical, trauma, gynecologic and pediatric - and Chest Pain Center. Board-certified emergency physicians are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They are supported by skilled, experienced nurses and technicians trained in emergency medicine.
Halifax Health - Medical Center of Port Orange operates a 24-hour, full-service Emergency Department with eight critical care beds. The same physicians and professionals deliver care in both facilities.
Halifax Health is expanding, and this summer, the new ED will open. This ED will be the largest in the state of Florida with 107 treatment rooms (all private,) and Halifax Health will continue to deliver care as the area's only Trauma Center.
