Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

As a part of your child's treatment in this facility, our primary goal is to provide a safe, therapeutic environment at all times. The Halifax Behavioral Services inpatient units are locked units. Some of the rules on the unit may seem excessive, but these rules are designed to ensure this safe, therapeutic environment for your child and family.

We are a crisis stabilization unit, where our goal is to stabilize the individual and family crisis as quickly as possible and develop a discharge plan. To do this, your child will receive individual, group, and family therapy with a therapist. Target case management if requested.
