Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
A Center of Excellence in Musculoskeletal Conditions in Adults and Children
Halifax Health Medical Center – Center for Orthopedics offers a comprehensive array of orthopedic services focused on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal system problems. Our mission is to return the patient to his/her highest level of well-being and functioning.
A variety of highly-trained physician specialists treat orthopedic problems in all areas of the body – neck and back, knee, hip, foot and ankle, shoulder, hand and wrist. These specialists see problems related to muscles and tendons, joints and bones. Illness or injury causes fractures, tears, sprains and strains, inflammations, degenerative diseases such as osteoporosis and arthritis, tumors and age-related deterioration.
Treatment options range from basic therapies to advanced surgical techniques. Halifax Health Medical Center – Center for Orthopedics provides the latest facilities and equipment to support the physician’s care of his/her orthopedic patient.
Halifax Health recognizes that the care plan for many patients suffering from orthopedic problems doesn’t end with a hospitalization. That’s why we provide outpatient rehabilitation, education and support groups as a part of the patient’s overall treatment.
In 2005, Halifax Health completed thousands of knee and hip joint replacement surgeries, making our program one of the largest and most experienced in Central Florida. From partial replacements to total joint replacements, from minimally invasive procedures using laparoscopic techniques to traditional open procedures, each orthopedic patient receives the treatment and care that is best for them.
