Restorative Retelling Group
A 10-week group for those who have lost a loved one due to homicide, suicide, or accident. This group will assist with a form of retelling that aids in the healing process.  This group is not recommended for anyone whose loss occurred less than six months prior to the start of the group.  Before attending the group, it is necessary to meet with the group leader(s).  To schedule an individual session or for more information, please call 386-258-3237.

Bereavement Family Retreat
A unique all-day session using horses is occasionally scheduled to help families gain insight into communication, grieving styles, and the changes resulting from loss.  For more information, call The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler’s Bereavement Office,  at 386-822-4851.

Children’s Grief Services
The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler offers grief support programs especially for young people and their families. BeginAgain Children’s Grief Services provide a resource for children ages 4 to 18, for whom the death of a loved one can be a life-altering experience.  The program is available at two locations: the Lawrence E. Whelan Children’s Grief Center in Daytona Beach and the Childern’s Grief Center in DeLand. Art, music, drama, group activities, discussions and meaningful ceremonies are utilized to assist children in expressing their grief.

The program also conducts Camp BeginAgain, a weekend retreat for young people age 6 to 18 who have recently experienced the death of a loved one. The camp combines recreational and sharing activities while creating special bonds among campers who are experiencing similar emotions. Campers share in grief support groups and learn how to cope with emotions and discover ways to remember their loved ones. For information call the Center at 386-258-5100 or 386-822-4851.
