Bereavement  - a journey through grief and mourning

We hope that you will find information here that is useful to you in your mourning process. We also hope to convey our comfort and caring.

The process of grief and mourning is a completely natural and expected response to the death of someone loved. While it is natural and expected, it is often the most difficult and painful experience of our lives.

Grieving people frequently doubt that life will ever be meaningful again.  It is not uncommon for people who have suffered a great loss to say that they do not expect to see “a light at the end of the tunnel.” If this is something that you currently believe, accept it as part of your experience right now. At the same time, be open to the change that the process of mourning is bound to bring.

From those of us who have counseled others with similar doubts, we offer our experience.  Having had the privilege to walk a part of people’s journey with them, we have, many times, witnessed a remarkable growth and rebuilding. While we bear witness to deep pain, we have also observed great transformation. It is an experience as awe-inspiring as watching the sun rise, or a flower blossom.
