Gynecologic Endoscopy Fellowship

The Board of the Fellowship in Gynecologic Endoscopy approved Halifax Health to be the first program in Florida and one of only 18 in the nation to participate in the accredited Gynecologic Endoscopy Fellowship program.

Beginning July 2008, this one-year program will provide fellows with top level training for laparoscopic and robotic surgery using Halifax Health facilities including Halifax Health Medical Center and Halifax Health - Medical Center of Port Orange. This Fellowship will be under the medical directorship of Chris Stanley, MD, Halifax OB-GYN Associates, and additional Halifax Health surgeons including Kelly Molpus, MD; Joe Bianchi, MD; David Ramshaw, MD; Mark White, MD; Cynthia Baldwin, MD; Steve Cortez, MD and Matthew Merrell, MD.

The fellow will work with the preceptor and other designated members of the fellowship training team in the office and the operating room. The fellow will participate in the pre-operative, intraoperative and post-operative care of patients.

The program is affiliated with the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons and will provide an opportunity for gynecologists who have completed their residency to acquire additional skills in advanced endoscopy and reproductive surgery.

"It serves to strengthen our commitment to teaching and allows us to provide the most advanced treatments to the patients in the area. It also validates our expertise in the field of minimally invasive surgery."
