Dr. Spain attended Tulane University as an undergraduate majoring in philosophy. During this time, Keith spent several semesters abroad including four months at sea and several months in Jerusalem. He volunteered many hours as a member of emergency medical services providers at both Tulane and with the New Orleans Health Department. For many years he was the Waterfront Director for a free camp for economically disadvantaged children. Dr. Spain then went on to receive his MD degree from the University of South Alabama. He was a member of American Academy of Family Physicians and the Alabama Academy of Family Physicians. Keith also volunteered time with Habitat for Humanity and was the Intramural Sports Chair & Team Captain while in medical school. Dr. Spain was the recipient of the Medical Alumni Endowed Scholarship. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Keith's interests outside medicine include triathlons, fishing, scuba and spending time with family, friends and his dog, 'Scrubs'. | ||
