Rachel Scheerer, MD


RachelDr. Scheerer graduated with high honors from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, majoring in biochemistry and economics. She volunteered with the college's homeless outreach group and performing research at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Scheerer received her MD from the University of South Florida, where she was actively involved in serving her community. She served as the class community service co-chair and also frequently volunteered at the Judeo-Christian Health Clinic and the BRIDGE Healthcare Clinic, which provide healthcare to underserved residents of Tampa, Florida. Dr. Scheerer was actively involved in family medicine, serving as president of University of South Florida's Family Medicine Interest Group and the Florida Academy of Family Physicians board of directors. She received the family medicine department award for her outstanding contribution to public sector medicine and was inducted into the Barness-Behnke Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Outside of school, Rachel enjoys cooking, running, swimming and going to the beach, as well as spending time with her husband, Jake and dachshund, Dora.
