Eric Pontey, M.D.

Dr. Pontey attended the National University of Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire double majoring in biology and chemistry. Political unrest in his homeland closed the university and Eric found himself on a plane to the United States to continue his education. He completed his studies at the University of South Florida majoring in biology. Dr. Pontey went on to receive his MD degree from the University of Iowa in 2006. He spent time volunteering with the Big Brother program and has tutored inner-city children in mathematics. Dr. Pontey has a year of general surgical residency to his credit at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. Fluent in French, Eric finds enjoyment outside of medicine through biking, soccer, cooking and world travel.
