Halifax Health -- Auxiliary was established in 1932 and provides volunteer opportunities to support our organization's dedication to quality healthcare. The Halifax Health -- Auxiliary serves to support the hospital and its patients; relay the hospital's accomplishments and goals to the public, and fundraise for the institution's many charitable giving programs.
Membership in the Halifax Health -- Auxiliary offers many volunteer opportunities for both adults and teenagers (ages 14-18). Auxilians can work days, evenings, or weekends depending on their individual service assignments. Volunteers work a minimum of 60 hours per year with many special recognition programs, educational / social events and associated service benefits provided. Service assignments include Gift Shop, Patient Transport, Family Waiting Room, Courtesy Cart, Information Desk, Halifax Health Medical Center -- Port Orange , Centers for Oncology, Patient Service Rounds, and over forty other exciting volunteering opportunities.
