Halifax Health Introduces
the France Tower

During its grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 13, Halifax Health revealed the name of its recent expansion project: the France Tower at Halifax Health Medical Center. Named on behalf of the France family, the tower is a state-of-the-art facility housing Florida’s largest Emergency Department and the area’s only Trauma Center and Pediatric Emergency Department.

“Outside funding was imperative to make this project a reality,” explained Jeff Feasel, President and CEO of Halifax Health. “Members of the France family have been long-time supporters of Halifax Health. Their support of this facility is a chief example of their unending commitment and dedication to ensuring that residents and visitors alike enjoy a premier quality of life in our community.”

New Era of Healthcare in Volusia/Flagler

A driving force for countless countywide initiatives, the France family’s roots run deep at Halifax Health. Their commitment can be clearly seen in their support of numerous departments and programs with outreach to children, adults and seniors. With their multimillion-dollar support of this tower, they are helping to usher in a new era of healthcare in Volusia and Flagler counties.

“We are thrilled to offer such a world class medical facility in our own community,” said Betty Jane France. “Our neighbors deserve the most advanced and leading-edge care available.”

Leading the Southeast in Advanced Technology

Situated at Halifax Health’s Daytona Beach campus on Clyde Morris Boulevard, the France Tower expands the medical center’s capabilities by 180 additional private rooms and more than a halfmillion square feet of modern space. The France Tower also boasts some of the most modern medical technology in the world. For example, within the Radiology Unit alone, there are five pieces of equipment that are the first of their kind in the Southeast.

From state-of-the-art equipment and progressive layouts to windows that can withstand a Category 5 hurricane and extra space for visiting family members, patients at the France Tower at Halifax Health Medical Center will receive a quick response, the best treatment available and the utmost privacy during their stay.

In addition to the France Tower, the France family has donated resources for Halifax Health – Betty Jane France Center for Pediatrics (Speediatrics), Halifax Health – Keech Center family community clinic, and the Halifax Health Foundation, which supports numerous non-profit activities and events in Volusia and Flagler counties.

The France Tower was unveiled Friday, June 12, with more than 1,000 guests in attendance, including the Halifax Health Board of Commissioners, government officials, members of the France family and many other community leaders. They enjoyed live music, food, a special presentation, tours of the facility and a unique rooftop lounge with scenic views of the surrounding area.

On Saturday, June 13, community members enjoyed tours of the France Tower that showcased its advanced technology, the largest Emergency Department in Florida and the private patient rooms. Attendees also experienced interactive healthcare displays and healthy cooking demonstrations.

The community event featured a kids’ tent with yoga, a NASCAR show car, a get-well card coloring station sponsored by Speedway Ambassadors, a Fossil Exploration display provided by the Museum of Arts and Sciences, and a Nintendo Wii play area.
