Halifax Health – Center for Urology Welcomes Bennett Scaglia, MD
Urologist Bennett Scaglia, MD, recently
joined Halifax Health – Center for Urology.
Dr. Scaglia is board certified in adult and
pediatric urology and is a Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Scaglia joins the Halifax Health team after serving as the Medical Director of the prestigious UroHealth Institute in Illinois. He was also in private practice for 15 years and was a faculty member at the University of Illinois — College of Medicine.
Before practicing in Illinois, Dr. Scaglia completed six years of residency training in general surgery and urology at New York Medical College.
Born and raised in lower metropolitan New York, Dr. Scaglia earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Hofstra University. During college, he volunteered as an EMT with a local ambulance service and in the emergency department of an area trauma center. Dr. Scaglia then graduated with honors from New York Medical College in 1987 and completed a surgical internship at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in 1988.
Dr. Scaglia recently moved to Florida with his wife, Rose. He is an avid pilot and a motorcycle enthusiast, and he also enjoys running, bicycling and spending time with family and friends.
