Prenatal Diagnostic Testing

Experts at the Center for Women & Infant Health offer the most advanced prenatal diagnostic tests, helping area moms have healthy pregnancies.
The Center for Women & Infant Health offers comprehensive care for women throughout pregnancy and delivery. The center also cares for even the most complicated pregnancies in a private, comfortable environment.

The most advanced prenatal diagnostic tests are available at Halifax Health, where the prenatal diagnostic center is under the direction of Regional Obstetric Consultants, a practice accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. The physicians at Regional Obstetric Consultants are all board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Maternal Fetal Medicine subspecialty division.

The following services are offered:

  • Genetic counseling
  • Ultra-Screen, which checks for chromosome problems such as Down syndrome and trisomy 18 or 13
  • Genetic ultrasound
  • Amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling
  • Targeted level II ultrasound
  • Fetal echocardiography
  • Fetal umbilical Doppler studies
  • Antepartum testing
  • Consultations with specialists in maternal/fetal medicine
