Speediatrics Receives $4,000
from Corvette Club

Carl Schwenker, MD, began his journey with Halifax Health in 1963 as an OB/GYN. In his 33 years of practice, he delivered nearly 8,000 babies. Today, he remains one of the healthcare system’s biggest supporters, serving as Development Officer for the Halifax Health Foundation.

During the 1980s, Dr. Schwenker developed Halifax OB/GYN, which has since grown into a respected community leader. Now, he manages the Foundation’s Employee Giving Campaign and leads the Speaker’s Bureau, which is particularly important to him because he believes in the value of educating the public about healthcare.

Dr. Schwenker has a true passion to deliver the Halifax Health mission. “I believe in the mission of Halifax Health,” he said. His outgoing and active 7-year-old son, Charlie, helps keep him young at heart. “The only time I know I’m 75,” he said, “is when I take the stairs to my office on the second floor!"
