Halifax Health Recognized for Excellence in Heart Attack Care
If you’re having a heart attack, the sooner you
receive treatment, the more effective it’s likely to
be. That’s why the Chest Pain Center at Halifax
Health is constantly working to reduce the time
it takes for patients with heart attack symptoms
to undergo a thorough examination. If it’s
unclear whether someone is having a heart
attack, the patient is closely monitored in a
specialized observation setting.
This commitment to excellence was recently recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, which honored Halifax Health’s Chest Pain Center with full accreditation. Halifax Health also has been recognized by the Joint Commission, making it the only heart attack program in Florida to receive these two distinctions.
The Society praised Halifax Health for its:
- Effective patient flow in the emergency department
- Cardiac Alert system
- Relationship with EMS
- Educational offerings to the community
- Required qualifications for nurses and doctors caring for heart attack patients
“Recognition by the Society of Chest Pain Centers further demonstrates our commitment to bringing the best healthcare services to our community,” said Donald Stoner, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Halifax Health. “As the area’s leader in cardiac services, Halifax Health is committed to clinical excellence and quality patient care.”
