Halifax Health Foundation
Benefits from Hot Rods &
Reels Fishing Tournament

The second annual Miccosukee Resort and Gaming Hot Rods & Reels Charity Fishing Tournament raised $81,500 for the Darrell Gwynn Foundation and the Halifax Health — Betty Jane France Center for Speediatrics.

The tournament was held at Daytona International Speedway’s Lake Lloyd in conjunction with the 50th running of the Daytona 500.

Fishing in the Speediatrics boat, 11-yearold Darius Matthews (pictured above with Darrell Gwynn) caught the single largest fish in the tournament, reeling in a bass that tipped the scales at 5.85 pounds.

Darius cruised on the 29-acre infield lake with Halifax Health Foundation’s Executive Director Joe Petrock, NASCAR driver Donnie Allison and boat guide Jeremy Prouty.
