For 80 years, Halifax
Health has met the
healthcare needs and
exceeded the service
expectations of our
community. Halifax
District Hospital
opened on January 3, 1928, and a lot has
changed since then. We have opened new
facilities, developed new programs and
performed awe-inspiring surgeries.
We now have thousands of talented
employees, physicians and volunteers who
touch the lives of patients each day. Our
clinical outcomes and quality scores place
us among the industry’s elite, and our
status as a preferred employer is a
testament to our unique culture.
During the upcoming year, we are planning many special events to celebrate our eight decades of quality care and service. We will also look forward to what lies ahead: continuing to bring world-class technology and talent to the region, and expanding our services and care. Our vision and determination are setting the groundwork for Halifax Health’s next 80 years. These are exciting times for us all.
